Produced using wild cherries that are handpicked and added to the lambic. This beer has fresh (well to this beer) oude lambic added just before bottling to give an extra sour tartness to the beer that you don’t get from simply ageing then bottling. It has a strong cherry aroma and pleasant sweetness on the body that combines with the sour body from the lambic to create a unique beer that leaves a lasting impression.
Despite being one of the smallest blenderies in Belgium, Hanssens can still claim to be one of the oldest. It has been on the same site since 1895 and there is evidence it was been making beer decades before that.
