Tucked away in the quaint little east Sussex town of Lewes, by the sea is a magical little brewery called BEAK. In their own words: "Conceived as a ‘nomadic’ project. Beak has spent several years creating unfiltered, seasonally-inspired beer with friends at some the greatest UK breweries, including "North Brew Co, Partizan, Beavertown, Burning Sky and Northern Monk." This special little brewery has made a real impression across the board in the world of beer, working with some of the biggest names in the business it certainly can boast why. The little close knit team, has given back to its roots and as they have grown they have hunkered down in Lewes and built a 15-BBL neighbourhood brewery and taproom with a mixed-fermentation project and weekend street food canteen. Talk about giving back to your own hometown!
The ever inviting and seemingly laid back approach to coastal life mixed with a real passion for beer seems to have paid off, over at their impressive tap room home to over 15 keg lines they are truly devoted to brewery-fresh beer, alongside a guest beer fridge and a natural and bio-dynamic wine list curated by the youngest Master of Wine in the UK!
They boast a great range of beers, inlcuding some outstanding stouts, ipas and pale ales. Here are our top faves you can grab now:
If that is not enough they also work with a These Hills Beers festival: These Hills is an intimate, carefully curated two day beer festival taking place in the town of Lewes in the dreamy South Downs National Park. During this event you have access to limited edition world class beer from a fantastic line-up of our favourite international and UK breweries!
We also cannot write about Beak without a special nod to the branding too which is playful, iconic and truly brilliant. It personally reminds me of a cult 70s classic cartoon. This again all just seems to work, their playful dream like graphics really match the laid back town setting, added with a true passion for beer, it all accumulates to a real winner. This favourite brewery of ours really does keep getting better and better...
