Sometimes, its quite cool when two cultures mix and create something great, here i am talking about rock and roll and beer.
Here is a look at some of the best beer projects grown out of the fusion of rock bands ( past and present) and brewies!
Madness
The band Madness released a selection of beers in collaboration with Portobello Brewery. Gladness, a flavourful Craft Lager. Lovestruck, a superb Hoppy Amber Ale, is filled with a floral and berry hop character followed by coffee and hazelnut aromas. And last but not least, Night Boat, a rich velvet London Porter, with a hint of cappuccino, chocolate, hazelnut and dark fruit tones.
New Order
To coincide with the Manchester band’s first albumin years, Moorhouse Brewery based in Burnley proposed Stray dog, from the name of a song on the LP. Stray Dog has been described as a 4.2% beer with “a refreshing and clean taste golden ale with citrus and lychee."
Motörhead
Motörhead also teamed up with Camerons Brewery in 2016 to create the Röad Crew beer. The beer was named after the Motörhead fan favorite ‘(We Are) The Road Crew,' which appears on the ‘Ace of Spades’ album. The beer is golden in color and has a hoppy citrus and blackcurrant flavor and satisfying bitter finish.
Pixies
Hey was created as a very limited pale ale created byBeers in orbit in London and the Pixies to mark an exhibition of album art creator by the late Olivier Vaughan in 2016.
Pearl Jam
Pearl Jam collabed with Dogfish Head Brewery in Delaware to create a signature fruit beer, ‘Faithfull Ale.’ This Belgian-style golden ale was launched to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Pearl Jam’s seminal album, ‘Ten.’
Idles
KRFSHT is the name of the beer. Joe Talbot, the lead singer of Idles came up with the name of this 4.8% roasted lager, which he said is to represent the sound of opening a can of beer. This limited edition was published by Signature infusion in time for the Bristol band’s headlining show at Alexandra Palace back in 2019.
The Darkness
For Christmas 2020, the Darkness collaborated on a special seasonal beer with Signature Brew. End of the bells– which of course takes its name from the group’s festive single, Christmas (Don’t let the bells stop!)
Deftones
The band launched their phantom bride IPA by Belching Beaver Brewery, which says the flavors were handpicked by Deftones frontman Chino Moreno and named after the song with the same name.
QUEEN
Queen’s pilsner Bohemian Lager contains only three ingredients: water, Czech barley malt, and Noble Saaz hops. The bottle’s design features a crest designed by Freddie Mercury himself while he was a student at Ealing Art College in London.
Rolling Stones
The Rolling Stones teamed up with Japan's Suntory Corp. on a line of alcoholic drinks, one of which is the Rolling Hop Pale Lager named ‘Rolling Hop.’ The beverage features a citrusy taste, low alcohol content and a higher carbonation level than other beers.
