When I was young, I’d drink lemonade with blackcurrant cordial in it, nearly every day. So this cider was simply a throwback to then. Wild cider, sweet jonagold apples formed the perfect base for a huge dose of tart lemon and rich blackcurrant. I’d always found most “berry” infused ciders a bit sweet and sickly, so I was determined to let the notes of citrus and cassis shine in this blend.
Some names just write themselves. This cider was hazy and it was purple. So the obvious choice was to name it after the track by the late, great Jimi Hendrix.
We are Ascension Cider Our mission is simple: Fly high and make the best cider we possibly can. You can find us in an old apple store on an orchard in Sussex. All of the apples that go into our ciders have been rejected by supermarkets for not fitting their beauty standards. We’re not that shallow. We take these tasty fruits and help them reach their full potential in our delicious ciders.
