There are some 1300 breweries in Germany and beer is a major part of German culture. German beer brewing has to adhere to strict purity law called the Reinheitsgebot (literally "purity order") dating from 1516, where only four ingredients can be used water, barley, hops and yeast. Because of those restrictions the Germans have become true masters in certain styles like lagers and wheat beers

Good mixThis is especially good if you haven't tried a lot on offer, though do be sure to check as it changes. I had tried half before and because it was 10% off it was a better deal than getting them individually, though a couple were out of date (didn't mind).

Some good, some less soCase contained the good tasting and familiar Augustiner and Paulaner. It was a nice surprise to re-discover the Ayinger, been about 20 years since I last had one. The Omnipollo 'Prize Pils' was disappointingly bland.
