About this product
This delicious, rich cherry beer is a beautiful blend of Kasteel’s celebrated quadruple-style beer Donker and cherry liqueur. The cherries as a deep, dark fruitiness to the beer tempered by the chocolate and peppery spice of the Donker. It’s a complex but easy-drinking beer that makes a great aperitif and digestif.

Exquisite stuffExperienced this repeatedly on a recent trip to Bruges and is now one of my favourite beers ever. While not for everyone due to its slightly sweet taste (expected with cherry liquor added) it is absolutely the best of its kind when it comes to fruit beer. Will be buying this on repeat going forwards. Price on Beer Merchants is spot on too when buying in multiples, and packaging/delivery couldn’t be better. Don’t make the same mistake that I did and buy from certain supermarkets, as this is the 7% version and not the proper 8% nectar sold here.

Nice treatLove this beer immensely. Not something I would drink all night long, but I like to have one as a treat. You can tell the beer is dark and strong, but the cherry really lifts the flavour. A winner for me for sure!

Passable cherry beerI drank this alongside a bottle of Cherry Chouffe and concluded the latter was marginally nicer. I think both are inferior to Delirium Red, but I wouldn't NOT recommend it. I'll continue to buy Kasteel's cherry Bacchus but I'm not so sure if I'll buy this again

A framboise in all but nameIn my youth I used to drink a lot of framboise and this Rouge beer reminds me of them. It is very sweet and very red, has added sugar, added sweetener, cherries and cherry flavour! I have enjoyed other Van Honsebrouck beers in the past and will try some of them again - but probably not this one, it's too much of an acquired taste. If you enjoy framboise try this beer, you won't be disappointed. It doesn't taste like an 8% beer; probably the strength of the beer is masked by its sweetness, spice and cherry flavour.

Great Beer from Van Honsebrouck BreweryDefinitely this beer is worth recommending. Better then "BACCHUS". I suggest to put your "Kasteel" glass in a freezer for few minutes. Before you drink one make sure you have another one spare...
