How our delivery system works

You will first receive an order confirmation e-mail, followed by a shipment confirmation e-mail from beermerchants and XDP giving you details of your delivery with a consignment number for you to track your order on the XDP site. Once your order has been despatched it will show as complete in your user account page.

If you are not in when delivery is made, a card will be left with contact details for you to arrange another delivery. If the courier is not contacted, they will automatically try to deliver your beers on the next two consecutive days, leaving a contact card on the first day and a card to advise of the consignment being returned to the depot on the second. Should the goods then be returned to beermerchants after all attempts have failed, we will issue a full credit, or re-despatch on your instruction when the same delivery cost will be charged against your account.

We are unable to offer saturday deliveries.

Packaging

We use biodegradeable packing "peanuts" to envelope the beers in their shipping boxes.  These starch-based packing peanuts were developed as a more environmentally friendly alternative, in the 1990's.  The starch in the peanuts comes from crop-based sources rather than petroleum-based polystyrene, and is non-toxic. Some are made from sorghum; other brands are made from corn starch. Being biodegradable and nontoxic, they are also safe for humans and pets to ingest accidentally. However, they are not produced in food-safe conditions, and are not recommended for eating. Also, during the manufacturing process, the nutritional value is removed from starch-based packing peanuts. This removes edible components, such as sugars, that would otherwise attract rodents and bugs. Starch-based peanuts are soluble in water, degrade in your compost heap or can be flushed away.

Goods are unable to be returned or replaced and any faulty or damaged goods will receive a full refund. You are responsible to ensure that alcohol deliveries are permissible in your country. Should customs refuse your entry we cannot be held responsible, neither can we be held responsible for any additional customs charges incurred.
