Brewed at the Halve Maan brewery in Bruges, this tripel is a stunning example of the style. With lots of bready sweetness and shedloads of stone fruit aromas from the yeast, it’s a complex beer that starts sweet and finishes with a fizzy herbal bitterness from the saaz hop that just leaps off the tongue.

Brugs Tripel BierFrom the Half Moon brewery in Bruges, this Tripel Bier is no lightweight! At an impressive 9% this light golden colour beer is so full of flavour it will surprise you. It is top-fermented with secondary fermentation in the bottle but there is the absolute minimum of spent yeast deposit in each bottle. Careful handling and pouring will reward you with a clear beer in the glass; but don't worry if its a little cloudy looking, drinking it won't do you any harm. Enjoy ALL the beers that come from De Halve Maan Brewery in Bruges, they are both wonderful!

Straffe Hendrik is one of these, the 9% Tripel is a clear golden colour even though it undergoes refermentation in the bottle. It is not cloyingly sweet nor bitterly overhopped and is a very pleasant, but rather strong 'special occasion' beer.
