About this product
Paulaner Munich Dunkel is an easy drinking, Dark Munich lager with a malty, chocolaty flavour.
Original Münchner Dunkel is actually the "original" Munich beer. Although light beer overtook dark in popularity stakes at the end of the 19th century, the traditional, strong flavor of Original Münchner Dunkel is once again enjoying an upward trend. Its dark golden color and wonderfully full flavor are the results of the traditional bottom-fermented brewing process using dark quality barley malt.

Established in the early 17th century by the Paulaner monks, the brewery caused quite a splash with its first beer. Their first beer, a strong bock called Salvator, was so delicious and successful that other local breweries wrote to the council asking for them to restrict its sale to save others from closing.

The search for DunkelWhilst on holiday in Bude we tried some Dunkel, a dark lager in a local bar and fell in love. When we got home we tried to locate it in the supermarkets to no avail, finally after some research we found this Dunkel which has to be said is not bad at all. How stupid none of the UK supermarkets sell it yet whilst at my parents house in deepest Spain, the small local supermarket had about five different brands.
