About this product
Hacker-Pschorr is one of the most historic breweries in the world, and brewed beer for the first ever Oktoberfest in Munich. Brewed in accordance with the German purity law, this beer is a 5.5% golden lager with a lovely bready aroma with a lemon-like edge. It has a lovely smooth feel and crisp hopped finish. One of Germany’s best lagers.

The history of Munich's Hacker-Pschorr goes all the way back to 1417 and even plays a leading role in the foundation of Oktoberfest, when Prince Ludwig I of Bavaria asked them to brew a special beer for his Wedding in 1810. That party became the annual celebration, and the festival is still held on land donated by Joseph Pschorr who was brewmaster at the time.

Superb German BeerI looked at the label to see if this had been brewed under the German purity laws, but couldn't find anything. I needn't have worried as this is one of the best lagers I've ever tasted. Plus there's something cheerfully satisfying hearing that bottle cap pop open. I know, simple things etc.
