Floris is made by the Huyghe Brewery (Dutch: Brouwerij Huyghe) and is a brewery founded in 1906 in Belgium by Leon Huyghe in the city of Melle in East Flanders. The site of the brewery has been in operation since 1654. However, the brewery has been modernized and expanded on several occasions since the founding of Huyghe. The brewery's most well known beer is Delirium Tremens, a Blonde, Belgian-style trippel. Floris Honey is a wheat beer blended with honey which gives a lively, fruity and bitter sweet style of beer.
Brewers of one of the most famous brands in the world, Huyghe is a towering brewery with a reputation for delicious, accessible beers. Best known for its strong ale Delirium Tremens, which is so omnipresent that people think it is the name of the brewery not the beer.
Not being a great lover of honey I'm not sure why I bought this honey beer really, but being from the brewer's of Delirium beers I thought I'd give it a go. As soon as the glass nears the nose there is a strong smell of honey, which I found a little overbearing, but then there's a surprisingly nice fruity taste. Obviously better if you like honey...
