The Ultimate BBQ Combo

When we met Scott from The Luxury Meat Box Company we knew he was a kindred spirit with as high standards for his produce as we have. So it was an easy decision on both parts to come up with a combo offer for our incredible customers to really kick off your Summer in style.

You will need:

1 x tsp Kosher salt, 1/2 x tsp granulated garlic, 1/2 x tsp ground coriander, 1/2 x tsp ground cumin, 1/2 x tsp cracked black pepper, 2 x tsp vegetable oil, 1 x whole free range chicken, 1 x 440ml can of Northern Monk Faith.


Combine the dry spices & oil in a mixing bowl until they have made a rub, then lightly brush the whole chicken with this until evenly covered.

Prepare the BBQ to cook on a medium heat, around 180 C. Open the beer and take a good sip (you only need around 400ml to cook) then make another 1-2 holes in the top of the can.

Place the Faith on a flat surface and carefully slide the chicken over the top until the cavity is nicely filled, leaving a bit of room at the top for steam. Place the can/chicken combo on the grill using the can and the two legs for balance, then either close the lid or cover.

Cook until the juices run clear and the internal temperature sits around 70-75 C at the thickest part, but not touching the bone. This should take around 80-90 mins.

Once cooked, use tongs to grip the bird and a spatula under the can, transfer it to a platter and allow to rest for 5-10 mins. Once rested, grip the chicken with the tongs once again and hold the can with an oven glove and carefully twist the chicken off of the can. Discard the can, being careful with the beer inside as it will be very hot, cut the bird up into serving pieces and enjoy!
