About this product
The quintessential Belgian blonde ale against which all other blondes are compared. It is made in Bruges by the Halve Maan Brewery using 4 different malts to give it a distinctive big body and sweet malt character, while the unique yeast adds notes of banana and plum. The beer has a crisp, clean finish thanks to the hops that also bring a dried-fruit-like edge to the beer.

Halve Maan Brewery triumphBelgian Blonde beers are my absolute favourite and this one never disappoints. It is brewed in Bruges where I first tasted it when I went there to attend the Bruges Beer Festival many years ago and if I ever see it sold I'll buy some! At 6% it almost qualifies (in Belgium) as a 'session beer' but it should be an unhurried expedition into luxury to have a glass of this beer. I understand that Beer Merchants stock the glass for this beer too.

Nice, but original Straffe Hendrix 6% was betterBruges Zot has a different taste to many Belgian blonde beers. I drank Straffe Hendrix 6% blonde about 25 years ago, different taste to Zot, but the Half Man / Moon brewery changed hands since then. Bruges Zot is a reasonably smooth taste compared to the typical 9% Belgian beers.

Zot blonde beerI am a long time leffe drinker, I think this is equally as good if not better. You need a zot glass for the full experience. Great tasting beer, happy days
