Kirkstall Brewery

Kirkstall Brewery dates back to the 12th century when Cistercian Monks founded an Abbey on the banks of the river Aire which today still stands and is considered as one of the best preserved monastry in the UK. It was taken over by Duttons of Blackburn in 1936 which merged into the Whitbread empire and finally ceased brewing in 1983. The new Kirkstall Brewery has rekindled the brewing flame and is producing amazing beers which are highly regarded accross the whole of the UK.
