Jever Brewery on the north coast of Germany was founded by a man called Diedrick Koenig back in 1848, and it's history is blighted by the two world wars. The first one killed its owner, while the second caused malt supplies to drop so low that workers were sent into the fields to scour for extra malt. Thankfully the brewery survived both setbacks, and now produces a delicious, cracker-dry lager with the aroma of popcorn and herbs.
