In 2006, 25.8 million hectolitres of Heineken beer were produced and the consolidated beer production was 111.9 million hectolitres. Since 1975, most Heineken beer has been brewed at the Heineken brewery in Zoeterwoude, the Netherlands.
Amstel Brewery (Amstelbrouwerij, Dutch pronunciation: [ˈɑmstəlbrʌwəˌrɛi̯]) is a Dutch brewery founded in 1870 on the Mauritskade in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. It was taken over by Heineken International in 1968, and the brewing plant closed down in 1982, with production moving to the main Heineken plant at Zoeterwoude.
