Conceived by Mark Tranter ex Dark Star head brewer in a Sussex barn, the brewery is hidden away in the south downs and as such it allows them to brew uncompromising brews of quality and tradition. They use traditional techniques that involve slower yeasts and long maturation times. This doesn't mean they only make old styles of beer, they are no strangers to a super hoppy brew with their pale ales and IPA getting great reviews. They have an extensive barrel ageing program that allows them to be creative with their brews and really let them come to life without sacrificing their core range.
