Brooklyn was founded by foreign correspondent Steve Hindy, who worked in the middle east and had to brew his own beer if he wanted to drink any. On returning to New York in the late 1970s he decided to set up a brewery to travel less. Once they had dealt with the mob (seriously) they founded a brewery in Brooklyn, and set about brewing one of the most important beers in history. Brooklyn Lager is a Vienna style lager that showed people beer could have flavour and be sessionable. Since then brooklyn has grown into one of the world's best breweries and a shining example of craft beer at its best, producing an easy-drinking core range and some world-beating specials like their Sorachi Ace and Black Ops.
