Boon Framboise is an easy drinking and subtle, raspberry-sweet, oaky, raspberry lambiek fruit beer. Best served in a branded champagne-style glass. Good with fruit pudding and salads.
Boon Framboise is a blend of old and young lambics with added raspberries. It pours with a high-rise, pink fluffy head. Though obviously full of raspberries, the nose isn't sweet. A sherberty character is in the forefront, along with a characteristic sour lambic smell and a tart raspberry hint. On the palate though, the raspberries almost taste fresh, and the faintest impression of wheat character. Boon Framboise is clean in the finish, leaving a gentle fizz and a hint of tartness.
Boon produces some of the best sour or lambic beers in the world. Exposed to natural yeasts in the air and left to ferment in giant (and we mean giant) oak barrels, it is the most natural way to make beer and yields a depth of flavour not found in any other style.
