Named after the tarot card, our Gose style beer is fermented using a natural wine yeast and aged for 6 months in a terracotta amphora. The High Priestess sits at the threshold of the conscious and subconscious realms, the seen and the unseen, and is a symbol of abundance, fertility and the divine feminine. She teaches you that the world is not always as it seems and more profound unseen influences are often at play.
Placed under your nose, this has all the aromas of a Muscadet Sur-Lie, a white wine from the Loire Valley made from Melon Blanc and aged on the dead yeast cells that fermented the juice into wine. On the nose you get hints of pebble beach, sweet honeysuckle, puffed wheat and a lemon citrus zing. On the palate there’s plenty of acidity, almost cooking apple sharp but the mouthfeel is waxily soft and that lemon becomes wonderfully pithy over the the pebble stone mineral freshness. The finish is lightly savoury with a touch of coriander seed and green olive. Perfect with seafood, especially mussels, or an ideal partner for a cheeky scampi and chips.
Craft icon Beavertown has been loved by the UK craft beer scene since it sprang into life in the basement of the Duke's Brew and Que pub back in 2011. Son of the Led Zeppelin singer Robert Plant, owner Logan Plant has always been keen on pushing boundaries in the same style as his dad, creating bold, uncompromising beers.
The Beavertown range spans the whole gamut of beer, from beginner-friendly IPAs like Neck Oil and Gamma Ray to the extremely hoppy Lupuloid, fruity Bloody ‘Ell blood orange IPA, and Tempus sour. There’s something for all tastes when it comes to Beavertown beer.
